Realtek AC'97 audio driver package. The package includes: driver setup program, drivers for Vista/Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit editions. Installs the LAN driver version 7.031 for Intel® Desktop Boards with the RealTek* Ethernet LAN controller. Not sure if this is the right driver or software for your component? Run Intel® Driver & Support Assistant to automatically detect driver or software updates.
The Realtek AC’97 sound card is listed as compatible with Windows 7 as mentioned at the below link -
I would suggest you to check if you have the correct drivers for the device installed on your computer –
Try and check if it is getting recognized in Device manager, to go to device manager follow the mentioned steps –
- Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
- Click System and Maintenance, click System, and then click Device Manager.
Note If Control Panel is in Classic View, double-click System, and then click Device Manager.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow. - In Device Manager, expand sound, video and game controllers; check if it shows any exclamation or cross marks on the listed drivers.
- You may try updating the sound driver or install/uninstall the sound driver after rightclicking on the listed driver.

You may check for an updated driver from the manufacturer and install the latest version. Please visit the below link for realtek for the drivers listed for Windows 7 and try ,manually updating the drivers -
