Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) is the graphic driver architecture for video card drivers running Microsoft Windows versions beginning with Windows Vista. It is a replacement for the previous Windows 2000 and Windows XP display driver model XDDM/XPDM. Nvidia driver 368.20 from WU - WDDM 2.1 and DirectX DDI 11.4. In Graphic Cards The nvidia drivers have been updated on WU, to version 368.20. I opened DXDiag and noticed WDDM was also updated to v2.1 and the DirectX DDI to v11.4. Is this a beta driver? Or is DxDiag displaying incorrect information.

So for the last 10-15 drivers I had an issue where when I started the computer, after 5-15 minutes the GPU would go up to 100% usage out of nowhere and the only solution to fix it was to restart the driver from RadeonMod manually(which ofc would crash any game, so I'd have to wait this amount of time before playing games, so I wouldn't crash my game deliberately).
So I updated to 16.9.1 on Windows 10(Not Anniversary) and the same problem happened, but after installing Anniversary Update(which also brings the driver standards from WDDM 2.0 up to 2.1), the issue is here no more. No more need to manually restart the driver nor wonder how much it'll take until the GPU jumps to 100% usage.

Before jumping to the Anniversary Update, I checked tens upon tens of possible issues that may cause my problem but nothing helped me.
So in case you have this problem/have been having this problem for quite a couple of drivers, jump ship to W10AU and 16.9.1(it has to be 16.9.1, not older) and you should rejoice with the issue gone.

PS: After you install a new driver, overheat and huge idle GPU usage happens again!

I looked it up and it seems to be either a Windows Vista graphics driver or a Western Digital external drive. I do have a WD Passport Elite 320 Gb running on a HP a6120n Vista machine. I noticed no activity on it for a few days. Then WDDM is not running came up, although in Task Manager WD SmartWare has been running. When I brought up SmartWare on the task bar, System (my computer) information shows, but nothing else. When I try to click on Update Software, Contact us, or anything else, MS Word opens with some html code. I can't do anything else. I saw a post on answers.microsoft to uninstall the software, so I did in Control Panel -the only place I could do it. They say reinstall the software...how to do that?
Is there any way I can use this as a regular external hard drive now - to be able to see what's actually on there and transfer files back and forth? I've had it for three years so it has a lotta stuff on it.
